You may be considering a mobility scooter for general use, but would like the ability to explore further afield. But off-road scooters are bulky and very heavy, whilst folding scooters tend to be more fragile and less stable. However, there is now no need to compromise when selecting a scooter that will give you the freedom to explore!
The new hybrid S1 scooter from FreedomChair is built to give you the confidence to venture afar, yet simply folds flat for easier transportation and storage at home. Equipped with two powerful motors that proportionally adjust to the steering angle, the scooter can tackle more challenging terrains. You can change the scooter’s platform length electrically and adjust the seat height to suit your comfort.
Features
Electric Adjustment for Length
Buttons on the control panel allow the user to electrically adjust the length of the scooter’s platform. Fully retracted, the scooter is nice and compact for placing in a car boot or storing inside the house. Also useful for manoeuvring in tighter spaces. The seat cushion’s height and tilt angle are also adjustable to suit the user.
Conveniently folds down
The seat and steering column easily fold to make the scooter nice and compact for transportation and storage.
Latest Battery Tech
2 rechargeable lithium-ion batteries are fitted as standard with a potential range of 30 km depending on terrain and user weight. Adaptor cable included for off-board charging.
Electromagnetic Brakes
Electromagnetic brakes automatically hold you on a hill as soon as the throttle is released. Motors can be set to freewheel mode allowing the scooter to be manually pushed by an attendant if required. Also useful for manoeuvring into place for storage.
Raisable Armrests
For side transfers into and out of your seat, we’ve incorporated a handy flip-up function on both armrests.
Remote Control
A useful remote control for locking and unlocking the scooter’s main controller. Immobilises the scooter when left unattended.

Cup Holder
A quality, adjustable cup holder. Handy for holding a cup / bottle and keeping one hand free. Fits to either armrest.
Seat Widening Kits
If the chair you prefer is within your user weight limit, but it feels a little snug between the armrests, a seat widening kit can be easily fitted to give you that bit of extra space. Available in two sizes, the kits can add a total of 60mm (2.5″) or 100mm (4″) between the armrests.
